Professional Biography

Jacqui Walters is a second-year MA graduate student in the International and Intercultural Communication program at the University of Denver. Jacqui is also currently enrolled in the Graduate Certificate in Public Diplomacy program. In addition to her commitments as a student at DU, she is a Graduate Teaching Assistant for the MFJS department as well as an Advocacy Intern at the International Rescue Committee in Denver. Her academic pursuits are focused on human rights and gender rights & equity concerning migrants and refugees. When she’s not learning about and advocating for human rights issues, she can be found playing video games, reading histories of ancient civilizations, going to Denver Nuggets games, or curled up on the couch watching classic sci-fi movies. She lives in Denver, CO with her husband and their two cats and dog.
