What I do
I'm a scholar of rhetoric and argumentation. I primarily study digital rhetoric, focusing on social media sites and video games. My most recent work is on my book, currently titled Algorithmic Worldmaking, which connects ancient Greek theory with algorithmic arrangement and ordering.I'm the Director of Debate at DU and I have a long history of participating in speech and debate events.
In the classroom, I've taught courses including Public Speaking, Persuasion and Propaganda, First-Year Writing, Communication Technologies, and Theorizing Communication.
