Author and educator Alexandra Zapruder

Editor of Salvaged Pages: Young Writers’ Diaries of the Holocaust

TUESDAY, NOV. 7 | 6:30 PM

Elaine Wolf Theatre - Denver JCC | 350 S Dahlia St., Denver CO 80246

The Holocaust Awareness Institute at the University of Denver’s Center for Judaic Studies welcomes acclaimed author and educator Alexandra Zapruder to present the 21st annual Fred & Audrey Friedman Marcus Holocaust Lecture. Zapruder’s 2002 book Salvaged Pages: Young Writers’ Diaries of the Holocaust is one of the most widely taught resources in Holocaust education for middle- and high-school students. Zapruder, who was a member of the founding staff of the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum, will discuss the use of Salvaged Pages and primary sources in education. Following her presentation, she will participate in a moderated discussion and audience Q&A on the future of Holocaust education—now a pressing concern to schools across Colorado.

Students, educators, and Holocaust survivors attend free! Please contact hai@du.edu to request your ticket.
