Writing War in Ukrainian and Russian: Poetry Reading with Polina Barskova and Ostap Kin

In this reading and conversation, the poet-translator team Polina Barskova and Ostap Kin will present contemporary poetry in Ukrainian and Russian by Barskova, Khersonsky, Kiyanovska, Yakimchuk, Zhadan, and others, and will discuss their creative practices of writing and translating war. Barskova and Kin will introduce seminal figures in contemporary Ukrainian literature and poetic responses to the war in Ukraine by sharing their poetry and translations in Ukrainian, Russian, and English. 

The event is sponsored by the Committee for Comparative Literature and the Department of Languages, Literatures & Cultures and is open to DU students, faculty, and community members, as well as to the larger Denver public.
