Professional Biography

Andrew Ferdig began his role in the admissions department at the Lamont School of Music in 2022. Andrew holds a Bachelor of Music from the University of Denver and a Master of Music and Artist Diploma from Duquesne University. His primary teachers include Ed Stephan, Christopher Allen, John Soroka, and John Kinzie.

An active performer, Andrew is principal percussionist of the Greeley Philharmonic. He performs regularly with the Colorado Symphony, Louisiana Philharmonic, and Boulder Symphony orchestras under acclaimed batons such as Peter Oundjian, Carlos Miguel Prieto, and Andrew Litton. Aa a member of the IRIS Orchestra based in Memphis, Andrew has been rewarded with many incredible performance opportunities such as a recent concert featuring Bernstein’s Serenade for Violin and Orchestra with the fabulous Midori Goto, conducted by Michael Stern. As a chamber musician, Andrew has played in the Epic Concert Series and performs new music with the Playground Ensemble. Andrew held tenure as principal in the Johnstown Symphony Orchestra in Pennsylvania.

Andrew was a festival fellow and soloist in the National Repertory Orchestra and attended the Aspen Music Festival and School and the Colorado College Summer Music Festival.
