Leadership Out Loud

The 2020 election brought more women to Congress than ever before—144 women. However, this is only about 27% of Congress. In order to keep the number of women in government increasing, we must cultivate leadership in girls and highlight these voices early on. Because of this, Girls Inc. of Metro Denver has created a pilot program dedicated to activism and advocacy for high school-aged girls. This will be a three-year program, starting with a week-long stay at a college campus over the summer. The curriculum is currently being built, focused around elevating BIPOC voices and demonstrating the power we hold. The program will officially begin in the summer of 2021, meaning there is still a significant amount of work to be done. Nonetheless, this program will allow girls to explore their interests and recognize their abilities.
