The Dean's Office within the College of Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences (CAHSS) provides strategic leadership and resources to the College's stakeholders, including faculty, students, staff, alumni, donors, and friends of the College.
The College's vision, as promoted by the Dean's Office, is to be a vibrant academic and artistic hub dedicated to examining, navigating, and transforming the human experience in service of the public good.

Sahara Byrne
Dean Sahara Byrne joined CAHSS in July 2025. She is a communication scholar whose research examines why well-intentioned messages — particularly those targeting children and adolescents — sometimes produce the opposite of their intended effect.

Development
The Development Team in CAHSS is responsible for fundraising gifts to the strategic priorities of the College, as well as working with leadership on complex campaign gifts, including DU principal gift prospects and projects for Big Ideas in campaigns.

Alumni Engagement
The Alumni Engagement Team in CAHSS supports alumni engagement through strategic events, such as Homecoming and Alumni Weekend. This team also manages the CAHSS Alumni Awards program and the Alumni Advisory Council.
