CAHSS Student Leadership Council
Mission Statement: to serve as the voice of students’ diverse perspectives and bridge the gap between CAHSS students and administration.
-
Who We Are
Founded in 2023, the CAHSS Student Leadership Council offers students within our College opportunities to develop their leadership skills, build relationships across CAHSS and our communities, and to represent and support our college and departments at various events and conferences throughout the year. Students who are nominated by their departments and selected as Leaders receive paid training and professional development opportunities and College attire to wear at events.
-
What We Do
These students help grow the College's identity by supporting and representing each of our departments at select university initiatives. The paid time commitment is 15 hours during the academic year divided into the three main quarters (fall, winter and spring), and students meet together as a council about once a month to plan and discuss the ways in which they might strengthen CAHSS and their relationships to CAHSS students.

Lucy Levon (she/her)
I'm majoring in English literature with a minor in history and philosophy, with plans to graduate this spring 2025. For the past three years, I have worked on campus at the Ricks Center for Gifted Children as a program leader and teacher's aide. I am also about to begin a project with Vietnam Veterans and make sure their story is never forgotten throughout history. I plan on continuing my education through DU's graduate program in the upcoming fall and hopefully continuing to work towards becoming a professor of English literature.
I am interested in literature, history, philosophy, crafting (especially crochet), football, social reform, education, and coffee! (I know all the best spots).

Amirah Creighton (she/her)
I'm majoring in international studies and French/Francophone studies, with plans to graduate in 2026. I have work experience in law, finance, and advocacy, and I also tutor French at DU’s Center for World Languages and Cultures. After graduation, I plan to attend law school and pursue a career in law.
My academic interests lie in law, language, and global affairs, which I explore through my studies. I’m drawn to analyzing complex issues and understanding their broader implications. When I offer advice, it usually pertains to writing, research and problem-solving. Outside of academics, I love spending time outdoors, be it hiking, skiing, swimming or camping.

Additionally I am actively engaged in a sociology internship where I research DU's different consent policies while teaching healthy masculinity to the student body.
I spend most all of my free time backpacking, rocking climbing, skiing, and really anything else that gets boots on the ground. I also LOVE national parks and can give you any number of road trip ideas to check them out!

I also really want to travel, so I may take a break from school and work and go on some cool adventures.
In my free time, I like to put music on my iPod and create CDs, watch horror movies, and spend time with friends. Because of my previous role as a 4D Peer Mentor, people tend to ask for advice about resources around campus, and because of my art major people sometimes ask me which studio classes they should take.
