What I do
I am a professional working artist, and an art educator. As a visual artist, I am inspired by many things, ranging from patterns and colors in nature to exploring the figure and emotional dynamics. I aim to connect with viewers through their experiences, eliciting and emotional response. I enjoy working with students of all ages, cultivating self-expression and connection through art. My teaching style focuses on the excitement of the process of making art, and encourage students to create without fear or judgment. My workshops emphasize a D-I-Y approach and creative problem solving, to empower students with a spark of entrepreneurial mindset.Professional Biography
Jennifer Ghormley is an independent artist who employs a variety of techniques in the translation of ideas through works of art. She received her Masters of Fine Arts, emphasis in Printmaking from the University of Nebraska 2006, and Bachelor of Fine Arts, emphasis in Printmaking from Metro State of Denver, 2002. She has been an Artist in Residence at RedLine, Museum of Outdoor Arts, Children's Museum of Denver, Facebook and is currently an Affiliate Instructor at the University of Denver, and University of Colorado at Boulder. She exhibits her personal artwork nationally through invitation and juried shows, teaches for Art Students League, various K-12 school programs, and presents inspiring visiting artist lectures.
