Why the Creative & Liberal Arts

This is a moment of profound transformation. New technologies are reshaping how we work and communicate, and political divisions and global uncertainties test our assumptions. In that landscape, CAHSS offers clarity, context, and grounding. Our faculty illuminate the forces shaping our collective future, and our students are uniquely skilled at adapting to change to find their purpose. Through deep inquiry, creative expression, ethical analysis, and community-engaged research, a CAHSS education lays the foundation to adapt, to navigate, and to shape what comes next.

CAHSS offered real-world perspective for a career in international diplomacy. Meeting a former U.N. official made my goals tangible.

Our Promise

You'll Become Adaptive. Career-ready. Skilled.

In CAHSS, you develop the human abilities employers value most: communication, insight, creativity, and critical thinking. Most CAHSS courses meet Monday through Thursday, reserving Fridays for internships, research, personal wellness, and adventure. With us, you’ll graduate with two résumé-ready experiences and at least one internship, thanks to our intentional career integration model.

I frequently interview people for stories, write questions, and find themes — skills I learned in Dr. Suter’s class. Her mentorship shaped my post-grad plans and gave me a sense of belonging.
