What I do
I am writing a novel titled "Scrolls" about the life of a queer Jewish poet and his partner who is living with AIDS in San Francisco in the 1980s and early 90s. Inspired by Marcel Proust’s and Renee Gladman’s multivalent writings, the novel moves in and out of dreamscape, shifting narrative perspectives, mimicking a mind in a constant grieving state. I am reaching toward the movement of Proust’s and Gladman’s sentences that bend time seemingly easily and with glimmer.
