What I do
Learning another language is learning a different way to think about ideas and concepts as well as learning about the culture behind that language.My role, therefore, is to provide and nurturing environment in which students are encouraged to be actively engaged in the learning of Spanish.

Professional Biography
Professor Liza Veysikh is a Spanish professor born in Eastern Europe and raised in Denver, Colorado. She received her B.A. in International Relations and Spanish from the University of Denver and her M.A. and Certification as Instructor of Spanish Language from Regis University. Professor Liza Veysikh began teaching at various elementary, middle and high schools and later worked at Cherry Creek School District and Denver Public Schools. She then continued teaching college level Spanish and became an adjunct faculty at University of Denver in 2021. Currently, Professor Liza Veysikh teaches introductory Spanish at DU, and also gives private lessons in literature, culture and advanced Spanish, as well as teaches classes in Boulder. Liza Veysikh has been a sponsor for International Club for two years as well as Russian Club, attends various language learning workshops, and enjoys informing students of being bilingual and multicultural. Lastly, her teaching research interests include Iberian culture and literature as well as Latin American music. Lastly, Liza is pursuing her second masters in Spanish philology from the University of Granada.
