Monroe Lawrence
Ph.D. Candidate
What I do
My research focuses on the representation of teaching and learning in fictional prose, and "aesthetic pain," in poetry, which is the dramatization of guilt and shame through language that contravenes aesthetic and grammatical norms. My research takes the form of creative and critical work in both genres.
