What I do
As a graduate student, my main topics of research include 19th century American literature, gothic literature, and Stephen King’s fiction analyzed through feminist and queer critical lenses.
Samia Anderson (she/her) is a third year Ph.D. student in Literary Studies at the University of Denver. She received her M.A. in English Literature as well as her B.A. in English Literature with a concentration in Dramatic Arts from Tennessee Tech University. In her research, she primarily focuses on feminist criticism and queer theory broadly. Specifically, her inquiry engages gender performance, gender binaries, and feminine subjectivity within the scope of nineteenth and twentieth century gothic and horror fiction. At the moment, she is beginning work on her dissertation which analyzes the treatment and performance of women in Stephen King’s fiction.
