What I do
I am a fiction writer interested in absurdism, humor, microhistory, and 19th century Gothic literature. My work draws on archival material to imagine abstract, grotesque worlds.
Professional Biography
Sara Kachelman (she/her) is a Ph.D. Candidate in English and Literary Arts at the University of Denver. She holds an M.F.A. in Writing from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago and a B.A. in English from Sewanee: The University of the South. Her fiction has appeared in Chicago Review, Black Warrior Review, and Diagram. In 2020, her story "Friends of the Gyre" won the Columbia Review Prose Prize.
