Stephen Campbell

Stephen Campbell joined the Lamont School of Music as Director of Admission in 2015. Before Lamont, he was the Admissions Specialist at the Peabody Conservatory of Music. Stephen started his collegiate musical journey as a trumpet player, but later switched to studying voice. He holds a bachelor of music in vocal performance from the University of Colorado, a master of music in voice from Peabody Conservatory where he was the recipient of the Anita Erdman Award in Opera, and a doctorate of education from the University of Denver. His dissertation explores the college choice guidance given to high school musicians by counselors and music teachers, and his broader research interests focus on the value of music study in a time of rapidly increasing college costs. Outside of his professional work, Stephen enjoys spending time with his wife, three kids, and dog, camping, working on cars, and reading/watching anything in the realm of sci-fi and fantasy.
