Mind & Body Laboratory

Our minds exist in bodies and social contexts.
Our psychological processes intertwine this reality, so that we may understand and behave effectively.

In the Mind and Body (MAB) Lab, we explore the ways in which thinking, feeling, and moving are connected to psychological and social functioning. In particular, we focus on embodied emotion and cognition, religion and spirituality, and well-being.

We take a social psychological and affective science perspective, using experimental and qualitative methods to understand psychological processes involved as people act on and engage with the world.

How does movement influence our perception of others and our own emotional experiences?  How do social situations influence our thinking and feeling, and vice versa?
