Executive Assistant to the Dean
Professional Biography
Carter Kubic is the Executive Assistant to the Dean of the College of Arts, Humanities, and Social Sciences. Carter uses she/her, he/him, and they/them pronouns. Carter was born and raised in Colorado, with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Animation, Film, Photography, and Motion Design. Carter has held a wide variety of jobs through her career, with some notable highlights being a Head Pastry Chef, full time Freelance Digital Artist, and Administrative Assistant for the CO School of Mines. At the School of Mines Carter also held a position as the co-chair of the staff and faculty LGBTQ+ Community Alliance where he worked with campus leadership to change campus policy, language, and bring advocation, education, and celebration to campus for all students, staff, and faculty. Carter was also awarded as the 2023 Employee of the Year, with over 13 nominations from departments across campus.
In his free time, you can find Carter painting, crocheting, embroidering, playing video games, and reading. Carter married his long-term partner at the start of 2025, and lives with two tuxedo cats, Red and new family member, kitten Mila.
