What I do

My research interests focus on female African narratives and post colonial studies. I attempt in my research to see the intersection between progressive gender notions, religion and migration in the liberation of women in Africa. The stories I weave together capture speculative realities and African women's experiences.
 

Professional Biography

Nonye Chinyere Ahumibe is a first year PhD student in English and Literary Arts Department at the University of Denver, Colorado. She graduated top of her class from the University of Nigeria, Nsukka with a degree in English and Literary Studies. With over eight years of teaching experience gathered from teaching at Godfrey Okoye University, Enugu and Imo State University, Owerri in Nigeria, she sees the classroom as a labor room where new and progressive ideas are birthed to positively transform society. Her research centers on gender, religion and migration in female African narratives. Her published work is in African Literature Today journal, volume 40.
