Professional Biography

Richard O. Clemmer earned his Ph.D. from University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign (Anthropology) and has taught at State University of New York, Binghamton; Brooklyn College, City University of New York ; College of New Rochelle; University of British Columbia; and California State University, Northridge, where he served as Associate Professor of Anthropology and American Indian Studies. From
1981 to 83 he worked as a Social and Economic Development Specialist for the Southern Ute Indian Tribe, Ignacio, Colorado, and is now
Professor, Department of Anthropology; Curator of Ethnology, Denver University Museum of Anthropology; Member of the Graduate Faculty in Religion and Director, University of Denver/Iliff School of Theology Joint PhD Program in Religious and Theological Studies
