Our faculty specialize in cultural anthropology, archaeology and museum anthropology. As a community of researchers, we're committed to working collaboratively with students and across subfields to expand possibilities for anthropological study.
Faculty Contributions to Research
Faculty in the Department of Anthropology are committed to creative research, such as our work at Amache, the site of a World War II Japanese American internment camp, or our artistic collaborations examining systemic racism.
This is My Denver, a project that combines publicly engaged scholarship and practice, is currently doing ethnographic research on the educational and environmental problems affecting youth and established residents in Denver’s gentrified neighborhoods. Assistant Professor Esteban Gómez is working with high school students in North Denver to examine issues of power, storytelling and civic engagement.
