Last week, the College of Arts, Humanities & Social Sciences (CAHSS) celebrated this year's Faculty Career Champions, a campus-wide initiative recognizing excellent faculty members across the University of Denver that is facilitated by DU's Career Services Executive Council in the Burwell Center for Career Achievement. Faculty Career Champions are nominated by one or more of their students as someone who has gone above and beyond to mentor and support their students’ career, internship and post-graduation goals.

On Friday, the Burwell Center hosted a celebratory breakfast for all DU Faculty Career Champions, in which the academic deans from every college shared heartfelt student nominations with attendees, emphasizing the connectedness and dedication of faculty members to students at DU. Provost Loboa also congratulated this year's Champions, mentioning her tenure at several higher education institutions before DU in which she had never attended a celebration quite like this one.
