Dr. Luther is a violinist and violist that combines classical and non-classical styles for innovative performance and instruction. As a chamber musician, he was a finalist for the International Chamber Music Competition, Art of Duo.
In Los Angeles, Dr. Luther performed for soundtracks with on-screen performances including The Soloist. He has collaborated with artists including Burt Bacharach, Stevie Wonder, Natalie Cole, Patti Austin, Ruben Studdard, James Moody, Jon Faddis, Nancy Wilson, Richard Green, Andrea Bocelli, and many others, including a performance on The Jay Leno Show with Sarah Barrielles.
As a masterclass clinician, Dr. Luther's visits include Peabody Conservatory, Temple University, University of Delaware, Colorado State University, Louisiana State University, Texas State University, Texas Lutheran University, Southwestern University, University of Alaska Fairbanks, University of Alaska Anchorage, University of Delaware, Ball State University, Montgomery College, University of Tampico Mexico, University Nevada Las Vegas, most universities in Taiwan, the the American Viola Society National Festival.
Dr. Luther has presented at national and international conferences including the American String Teachers Association, the Suzuki Association of Americas, and the International Viola Congress.
Dr. Luther has taught, performed, and led research through Pepperdine University and University of Northern Colorado. He currently teaches at Colorado Christian University in addition to the Lamont School of Music.
As an entrepreneur, Dr. Luther created Luther Strings in 2018, a high end violin shop in Denver. Luther Strings serves professionals and beginners alike with the highest quality violins, violas, cellos, basses, repairs and restorations.
