Professional Biography
Dr. Cody Laun is a native of the Denver-metro region, and enjoys a full schedule in both opera and chamber music regionally and nationally, having been featured with Opera Colorado, Des Moines Metro Opera, Opera Idaho, Inland Northwest Opera, Mobile Opera, Fort Collins Symphony, the Natchez Festival of Music, Opera Mississippi, Bravo! Vail, Crested Butte Music Festival, Carbondale Arts, Symphony of the Rockies, The Denver Philharmonic, and the Boulder Symphony, among others. His competition credits include awards from The Metropolitan Opera National Council Auditions, NATSAA, and The Madame Rose Palmai-Tenser Competition.
His students have been engaged in the US and abroad, with companies such as Ohio Light Opera, Opera Colorado, Tokyo Opera Studio, Prague Summer Nights, Opera Kansas, Boulder Opera, Loveland Opera, Opera Fort Collins, and St. Martin’s Chamber Choir, among others. They have won and placed in numerous competitions, including Inland Empire NATS, CO/WYO NATS, and the Denver Lyric Opera Guild competition.
Currently, he serves as Adjunct Professor of Voice at The Lamont School of Music, University of Denver, and Affiliate Professor of Voice at Colorado Christian University.
His obsessions include his amazing wife, two beautiful children, hiking, gluten-free baking, and exploring his Colorado home, with all the culture and scenery it has to offer.
