Professional Biography
Halley Roberts (she/her) is a Ph.D. student at the University of Denver. She holds an M.A. in literary studies from Western Washington University and a B.A. in English from the University of Washington. Her research focuses on trauma theologies, spiritual modalities, gender and sexuality studies, queer theory, modernist literature, critical pedagogy, and the American gothic. Her current project, both creative and critical, explores the poetic potential of spiritual modalities (such as prophecy, resurrection, and prayer) as engendered rhetorical modes for radical spiritual intervention in early American diaries, sermons, and memoirs.
