Jill Holm-Denoma

I earned my graduate degrees in Clinical Psychology from Florida State University. From a research perspective, I study suicide and eating disorders. I also direct the Center for Child and Family Psychology, which is the graduate student training clinic in the Department of Psychology. In that role, I supervise graduate students who conduct assessments and therapy in the training clinic. Outside of DU, I have a small private practice in which I conduct assessments and therapy for members of our community. I also serve as an expert witness for court cases involving psychoeducational and/or diagnostic assessment.

A professional value of mine is helping to ensure that clinical research and service provision thoughtfully include people from traditionally under-served backgrounds. As Clinic Director, I work to make our services as accessible as possible for clients from a broad range of backgrounds and encourage our student clinicians to sensitively consider the impacts of intersecting identities and values when engaging in clinical work. I am also personally increasing my proficiency in Spanish and understanding of Latino culture as it relates to mental health because I hope that our clinic can expand our services to Spanish-speaking clients in the near future.
