Suzuki Violin PedagogyProfessional Biography
Laura attended the University of Denver for her Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Music Performance. During her studies at DU, she received her Suzuki violin unit training from James Maurer as well as general Suzuki instruction from Carol Tarr. She graduated summa cum laude and received many awards during her studies, including Most Outstanding Junior recital, Most Outstanding Undergraduate in Performance and membership to the Pi Kappa Lambda Honor Society for scholastic and musical achievement.
Laura feels that her musical education from a young age dramatically enriched her life and still provides her with many fulfilling opportunities. She hopes to share some of the same passion for music and music education with a future generation of students and teachers. When not teaching or performing, Laura is often found practicing with her four boys, the future family string quartet. She also tries to steal any free moment for a hike, reading, and traveling to a beach.
