Rhiannon Dowling is a Ph.D. Candidate in English and Literary Arts at the University of Denver. Her research interests include eighteenth- and nineteenth-century British, American, and transatlantic literatures, with particular attention to Gothic literature, sentimentalism, women writers, and critical disability studies. Her master’s thesis examined Louisa May Alcott’s lesser known Gothic thrillers, exploring the intersections of gender, genre, and popular literary culture in the nineteenth century. She holds an M.A. in English Literature from Western Washington University and a B.A. In English from Whitman College. She is also a former instructor of record, having taught undergraduate English courses at Western Washington University. Her fiction and poetry have appeared in places such as Creation Literary Magazine and Tiny Spoon Literary Magazine.
