What I do

I oversee the construction, alteration, and general execution and maintenance of all the costumes for the department shows. I also teach costume construction and fashion history, and design for some of our department shows.

Professional Biography

Sarah began her costume career in Los Angeles as a Specialty Costumer, building space suits, armor and superhero suits for movies such as The Hunger Games, Mockingjay Parts 1 & 2, Tomorrowland (2015), Fantastic Four (2015), and The Great Wall (2016). After moving to the east coast to get her MFA, she began working as a costume assistant to Emily Rebholz on shows such as Dear Evan Hansen (Broadway and tour), Jagged Little Pill (Broadway and tour) and Because of Winn Dixie (Goodspeed Opera). She also worked in costume construction for Broadway shows such as The Lion King, Company (2020 revival), and Girl from the North Country, as well as Disney on Ice for several years. 

Since moving to Colorado, she freelances widely across the Denver/Boulder area as both a designer and draper. She was the Draper at Opera Colorado for five seasons. She won the Henry Award for Outstanding Costume Design, Tier II in 2022 for BETC’s production of The Royale, as well as Best Costume Design from the Onstage Colorado Award for Theatre Excellence for Colorado Shakespeare Festival’s 2025 production of The Tempest.
