The Center for Innovation in the Liberal and Creative Arts (CILCA) reimagines liberal and creative arts education in a way that emphasizes flexibility and adaptability. We offer the space, seed money and administrative help necessary to support new pilot projects and signature academic programs. By investing in these new models of courses and curriculum, CILCA supports improvement and innovation in scholarship, research and educational practices.
What We Do
CILCA acts as an academic venture capital firm that invests in cross-disciplinary collaboration and helps our faculty find new ways to challenge students. We aim to ignite inquiry about current societal issues and provide curriculum models that inspire experimentation.
CILCA's one-of-a-kind events and collaborations help fuel imagination, intellectual exploration, artistic expression and connections across disciplines. All the while, we maintain a commitment to advancing ethical solutions and improving life for all who call our community home.
We're proud to have the support of the Andrew W. Mellon Foundation, which has awarded $250,000 to develop CILCA's five major startup initiatives through the end of 2019. Learn more about the Mellon Foundation award.
