If you're preparing to pursue a degree in economics, the faculty and staff at DU are ready to support you along the way.
We were attracted to DU because it has programs that are strong and [that] attracted students that are very service-minded. That has created quite a bit of cohesion and is also why we continue to function at a really high level.

Why Economics?
DU's Department of Economics is one of the few in the nation that approaches economics from a critical perspective. That means your academic coursework will be informed not only by traditional perspectives and scholarly insights on domestic and global economic issues, but also by a broad range of ideas and concepts that challenge accepted systems and propose alternative solutions to some of our society's most pressing economic challenges by employing historical, interdisciplinary, quantitative and qualitative methods and tools.
Begin your DU journey by applying through either the University of Denver application or the Common App and find key information like deadlines and checklists.
Explore our beautiful campus in the heart of Denver just blocks from downtown and a stone's throw from the Rocky Mountains, or join an interactive webinar and have your questions answered by faculty.
Along with federal and state financial support, students applying to study in the Department of Economics can seek financial aid from University-wide sources and funds within the College of Arts, Humanities & Social Sciences. The Department also offers merit-based assistance for graduate students.
Go to the graduate admission application to submit your information. For information on admission requirements, visit the graduate academic programs page and locate your program of interest.
