Our faculty are experts in their fields and are often called upon to provide their expertise on various topics related to the study of political science. Each year, we hold webinars and events that bring nationally known speakers to our campus and celebrate the excellent work of our students and faculty.
In Memoriam
The Political Science Department was saddened to recently learn of the passing of Professor Henry M. Holland, Jr.
Before retiring from the University of Denver in 1991, Holland taught generations of students, many of whom aspired to go to law school. Remembering the decision to hire Holland, retired Professor Steve McCarl recalled that those in the Department, “sensed that he had a broad liberal arts approach…He was balanced and impartial in his study of the law.” McCarl went on to remember that in his years on the Department, “Henry never put narrow personal interests ahead of the common interests…He was a model citizen.”
We are proud to say that Holland’s influence on and connection to the existing Department is still seen in both our “balanced and impartial” and “broad liberal arts approach” to the study of political science.
Josh Wilson is quoted discussing the Christian coalition and Amy Coney Barrett's relationship to the Federalist Society and the Christian conservative legal movement.
RadioEd co-host Jordyn Reiland chats with Professor Phil Chen about his work on how representation can affect trust and legitimacy in the federal courts.
