The College of Arts, Humanities, and Social Sciences is delighted to announce the establishment of the Maglione-Sie Endowed Chair in Italian Culture and to welcome associate professor of Italian Angelo Castagnino to this distinguished position.

The Anna Maglione-Sie Endowment for Italian Culture was created to promote and strengthen our Italian program through faculty research support, student scholarships, and hosting visiting scholars from Italy. Professor Castagnino will manage and advance this important mission while honoring Anna Maglione-Sie's legacy and contributions to Italian culture at the University of Denver.

A faculty member in the Department of Languages, Literatures, and Cultures since 2014, Professor Castagnino brings extensive teaching experience across the Italian program and a proven commitment to undergraduate advising and study abroad initiatives. His inclusive vision for the endowment includes engaging first-year students, fostering a "Maglione-Sie" community among former visiting scholars, and expanding the visiting scholars program to include artists, media innovators, and practitioners who illuminate contemporary Italian culture.

Congratulations to Professor Castagnino on this recent appointment. We look forward to the exciting initiatives and events that will emerge under his leadership.
