Public Diplomacy Certificate
Explore how global media and strategic communication advance political goals
Through a unique collaboration between the Josef Korbel School of Global and Public Affairs and the Department of Media, Film, and Journalism Studies (MFJS), this certificate equips you with skills to enhance your global impact, offered on-campus with in-person courses. You’ll acquire a sophisticated understanding of global media and communication processes and the ways in which they are employed by individuals, groups, organizations and governments to advance their strategic interests.
Curriculum Requirements
Graduate students must complete 24 total credits to earn the certificate.
Required courses (8 credits)
MFJS 4065 - Public Diplomacy and Nation Branding
MFJS 4160 - Media Theories or MFJS 4650 - Global Media and Communication or MFJS 4080 - Global/Multicultural Campaigns

Enrollment Criteria
This certificate program is available exclusively to students currently enrolled in master's degree programs at the Josef Korbel School of Global and Public Affairs or the Department of Media, Film & Journalism Studies. You can add this certificate to your studies after your initial enrollment in a master's program.
Financial Aid
For students already enrolled in a master's program and receiving merit or need-based aid, this aid extends to your certificate. There is no need to apply for additional aid as your current financial assistance package covers both your degree and any certificates pursued simultaneously.
