Financial Aid

We strive to ensure our students have the financial support needed to pursue their studies through the job and internship opportunities built into our degree programs. Additionally, College and University grants, scholarships, loans, and work study opportunities can assist you at both the undergraduate and graduate levels.

The Lance Clem Summer Internship Award provides funding for internship credits for selected MFJS students. The award provides funding to cover the registration costs for one 4-credit internship and two 2-credit internships (a student who receives 2-credit funding may still choose to do a 4-credit internship, and pay the remainder). Students are invited to apply for the award in spring quarter. Please contact Internship Director, Erika Polson, PhD, for more information.

Scholarships for Graduate Students

Scholarships and Graduate Teaching Assistantships

Everyone who applies for the MA in Media & Public Communication or the MA in International & Intercultural Communication is automatically considered for departmental funding. Domestic and international students are considered equally and there is no separate application process. Graduate student awards come in the form of scholarships and graduate teaching assistant positions. The amount of the awards vary, but about 85% of students in both programs receive some kind of departmental aid offer.
