The Lamont Society
Since 1983, the Lamont Society has provided financial support and promoted the mission of the University of Denver's Lamont School of Music & Theatre. Every time you make a gift, it helps us support our performances, purchase instruments, underwrite master classes and visits by guest artists, fund scholarships, send our ensembles on tour, and provide travel funds to students for summer festivals, competitions and auditions. Your vital support allows us to continue to thrive as a widely recognized premier music and theatre program. Support the next 100 years of Lamont by making your gift today!
As the Director of the Lamont School of Music & Theatre, I’m honored to join this extraordinary institution at such an exciting time. We’ve just completed our centennial year—a remarkable celebration of Lamont’s past—and now we step boldly into a new century of excellence, creativity, and innovation. I look forward to getting to know you, and I invite you to help shape what comes next.
Brian Pertl Director, Lamont School of Music & Theatre
Your support is critical to ensuring that Lamont continues to nurture the next generation of artists, scholars, and cultural leaders. Together, we can build on our rich legacy and reach even greater heights.
Make your gift today—and be part of Lamont’s future.
The energy and excitement of all of you who support our beloved Lamont School of Music and Theatre is absolutely exhilarating! We’ve grown our donor base, our dollar contributions have increased, and our participation in events is revitalized.
Andrea Meyers President, Lamont Society Council
The Lamont Society Council - the Society’s volunteer leadership board - is excited to be working with our Director, Brian Pertl, to improve and expand the ways in which donors engage with and support the school. This current year will highlight a new and improved Day at Lamont, as well as other longstanding activities like the Provost Concert and Lamont Showcase - both in more expansive and inclusive formats.
Last year, the Council and Brian created a challenge gift to encourage graduating students to begin their philanthropic orientation to Lamont (which we know helps initiate long-term giving). About 100 students participated, and over $14,000 was raised to dramatically upgrade the Hamilton webcast technology. We’ll put together another challenge next spring!
There are so many ways we can support Lamont. Donations to dozens of specific funds provide targeted help for students, and our unrestricted gifts help provide a world-class faculty, as well as the operation of what is probably the most impressive home to ANY music school in the country. As Lamont Society donors, our dollars are needed and deeply appreciated. Please attend any of the hundreds of Lamont programs and activities. To experience students and faculty in action is pure joy. You’ll experience what a difference your gifts make!
