The Lamont Wind Ensemble spotlights the energy and innovation of contemporary music in “Modern Movements.” From the driving rhythms of Michael Gandolfi’s Flourishes and Meditations to the sultry grooves of John Mackey’s Strange Humors—performed with guest artists Denver Dance—this program pulses with vitality. Bassoon virtuoso and Lamont professor Martin Kuuskman takes center stage in Nico Muhly’s dynamic concerto Reliable Sources. Joining forces with the Denver School of the Arts Wind Ensemble, this concert is both a celebration of modern compositional voices and an inspiring collaboration across generations.
