What is your current professional position and what do you love about it?
I am the marketing and social responsibility coordinator at Denver Botanic Gardens. A large part of my role is managing The Clinton Family Fund Go2Gardens Free Shuttle Program. It covers transportation, admission and programming costs for organizations to visit the Gardens. Aside from the gorgeous workplace, I love the Gardens’ mission of connecting people to plants and that I get to play a role in that everyday.

How did your master's degree and the networks you developed as a student prepare you for what you are doing now?
The program successfully prepared me to jump right in with the marketing team at the Gardens. The comprehensive coursework gave me experience in various areas such as communication campaign planning, media law and even graphic design elements. Though I'm the youngest team member, my work is respected and well received.

What was your favorite thing about your graduate experience at the University of Denver?
I appreciated the breadth of experience the teaching staff brought to the program. I liked that professors would draw from their professional experience in the field.

What advice do you have for prospective students who are thinking about getting a Master's degree in Media and Public Communication at DU?
My advice is to connect with alumni. It's really interesting to see the variety of ways graduates are applying their degree to pursue their interests.
