Michael McGoldrick Matching Gift Campaign

 •
Michael McGoldrick

Michael McGoldrick, a longtime supporter of Lamont, enjoyed fishing in his free time.

The University of Denver is pleased to announce a new matching gift program designed to enhance the educational experience for students at the Lamont School of Music. This program is made possible through a generous bequest from the late Michael McGoldrick, whose love of Lamont inspired him to devote countless hours and a significant amount of his personal resources to transforming Lamont into a world-renowned school of music.

Because of Mr. McGoldrick’s visionary investment, all eligible gifts made by March 1, up to a total of $4 million, will have double the impact of their original amount in the Lamont area of the donor’s choice. With this unprecedented gift comes the opportunity to realize up to $8 million this fall to enhance students’ musical education.

About Michael McGoldrick

Mr. McGoldrick worked at Janus Capital and enjoyed fishing in his free time. A longtime supporter of Lamont, he served as president of the Lamont Society Council. His bequest gift carries forward that legacy, engaging the Lamont community in transforming the future of music education at Lamont.

When interviewed about why he gave to Lamont, Michael said, "When you visit the Lamont School of Music, you feel the enthusiasm of the students and their music reflects it. By supporting Lamont, you’re supporting a dynamic University in its growth phase, you’re encouraging the arts, and finally you’re supporting wonderful music for the greater Denver community.”
