Join multiple departments in the College of Arts, Humanities & Social Sciences for an event investigating state violence using an interdisciplinary approach.
The event starts with a performance by DU Department of Theatre students, directed by Professor Anne Penner, of an excerpt of "Sound Museum," a new theory fiction book by Dr. poupeh missaghi, assistant professor in the DU Department of English & Literary Arts.
The performance will be followed by a panel discussion with three professors:
Dr. Barbara Sutton, professor and chair of the Women's, Gender and Sexuality Studies Department at the University at Albany
Dr. Jared Del Rosso, associate professor and chair of the DU Department of Sociology & Criminology
Dr. poupeh missaghi
The panel will put into conversation topics such as torture, memory, testimony, museology, gender studies, global politics and literary experimentation.
