Grappling with State Violence

Join multiple departments in the College of Arts, Humanities & Social Sciences for an event investigating state violence using an interdisciplinary approach.
 
The event starts with a performance by DU Department of Theatre students, directed by Professor Anne Penner, of an excerpt of "Sound Museum," a new theory fiction book by Dr. poupeh missaghi, assistant professor in the DU Department of English & Literary Arts.
 
The performance will be followed by a panel discussion with three professors:
  • Dr. Barbara Sutton, professor and chair of the Women's, Gender and Sexuality Studies Department at the University at Albany
  • Dr. Jared Del Rosso, associate professor and chair of the DU Department of Sociology & Criminology
  • Dr. poupeh missaghi

The panel will put into conversation topics such as torture, memory, testimony, museology, gender studies, global politics and literary experimentation.
