Careers & Internships
DU students in the Department of Anthropology learn a range of skills that set them up for success in a wide number of fields. They also have opportunities to practice those skills in classes, in our museum and laboratories, and by teaming with faculty who are leaders in many professional anthropology organizations.
Professionalization Networks
The faculty and students of the Anthropology Department are connected to important professionalization networks, including local, national, and international organizations. We are a partner department with the Anthropology Career Readiness Network (ACRN), who are committed to connecting students with sustainable careers. Faculty and staff are also leaders in organizations such as the Colorado-Wyoming Association of Museums, the Society for Historical Archaeology, and the Society for Applied Anthropology.
Work-Study Opportunities
There are many opportunities for hands-on work in our museum, labs, and front office. Incoming DU students can apply for work-study during the main financial aid application process. Once students are approved for work-study by the University, they can contact Curator of Collections Natalie Patton for available work-study positions within the Museum of Anthropology, or department chair Bonnie Clark for positions available in the Anthropology Department.
