Why the Creative & Liberal Arts
The bottom line: A liberal arts education teaches you how (not what) to think. Students graduating from our programs develop the skills and perspectives necessary to think critically, question assumptions and find new angles from which to approach our society's most pressing challenges. In our ever-changing global landscape, creative, cogent and responsible thinkers are the best prepared to seek out meaningful and impactful opportunities to improve not just their own lives, but the lives of the people around them.
What Can I Do With a Liberal Arts Degree?
Politicians, journalists, computer programmers, costume designers, business owners, musicians, museum professionals, nonprofit directors, teachers, lawyers — you can find liberal arts majors working successfully in all of these fields, among many others.
A creative or liberal arts degree comes with skills relevant to every profession, including communication, comprehension, cultural understanding and analytical inquiry. Possessing a solid command of these skills can make graduates appealing job candidates directly out of college and serve them throughout their careers, while those looking to pursue graduate education have an excellent foundation upon which to base their studies.
