Opera Colorado has announced its slate of 2023-24 Artists in Residence, and they include Lamont alum Randy Ho, tenor.

Ho graduated from DU in 2020, earning a Bachelor of Music in Performance from Lamont as well as a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from the Daniels College of Business. He went on to earn his Master of Music at the Peabody Institute of Johns Hopkins University, where he performed five opera roles before graduating in 2022.

After graduate school, Ho won a spot as a Young Artist with Pensacola Opera for their 2022-23 season. He performed the role of Parpignol in La bohème and covered Rodolfo, a role that he looks forward to doing in the near future. He also performed as Enoch Snow in Carousel

Most recently, Ho participated in the summer program of Opera Saratoga, where he made his debut in the role of Ernesto in Donizetti's Don Pasquale.

Opera Colorado auditions over 400 emerging artists each year from the nation’s top graduate schools for its Artist in Residence Program. During their eight-month residency, the selected artists bring opera to schools across the Rocky Mountain region and also perform in events throughout the year in Denver. The 2023-24 artists will perform Rossini’s Cinderella and Donizetti’s The Elixir of Love and will be featured in the Student Matinee of Don Giovanni in the Ellie Caulkins Opera House.

Ho looks forward to making his debut as Nemorino in The Elixir of Love, Don Ramiro in Cinderella, Don Ottavio in Mozart's Don Giovanni, and the Philistine Messenger in Samson et Delilah.
