Oboist Ian Wisekal presents a colorful and imaginative faculty recital exploring the many shades of the oboe’s voice. Joined by Jason Shafer (clarinet), Anne Breeden (piano), and composer/pianist Reggie Berg, the program features original solo works by Wisekal, charming miniatures by Germaine Tailleferre, and a new arrangement of Roger Quilter’s Where the Rainbow Ends. The evening also includes the premiere of a jazzy, genre-blending trio commissioned from Berg. With a playful thread of rainbows running throughout, this recital promises both heart and humor in equal measure.
