The Lamont Symphony Orchestra opens its season with Rossini’s dazzling Semiramide Overture, followed by the world premiere of Vincent in Arles and Auvers by John Heins—an evocative new work inspired by Van Gogh’s final years, featuring acclaimed violinist Yumi Hwang-Williams. The program concludes with the emotional depth and grandeur of Sibelius’s Symphony No. 2. Scott O’Neil and Bryant Denmark are the conductors.
