The Lamont Wind Ensemble continues its season with “Chiaroscuro: From Darkness to Light,” led by guest conductor Jeremy Van Hoy. The program moves through powerful contrasts in mood and color, from the luminous hope of Peter Meechan’s Song of Hope to Frank Ticheli’s radiant Lux Perpetua and Yukiko Nishimura’s evocative Lake Superior Suite. Highlights include a dazzling trumpet duet with Lamont’s new Trumpet professor Brian Neal and DU alum Ryan Spencer, now a member of the U.S. Air Force Academy Band. Van Hoy also brings his own distinctive arrangements, adding a personal touch to this journey from shadow into light.
