Krista Beckman, a library assistant at the Bonfils-Stanton Music Library, is working to ensure Lamont students have meaningful avenues for career development and can connect with others to help realize their professional aspirations.
Be active. Have fun. Give back! That’s the motto for the Brewery Running Series, an initiative co-founded by DU alumna Morgan Jappe (BM '08). From its humble beginnings eight years ago, the Brewery Running Series now boasts events across the nation where participants complete a 5K, followed by beers at a local brewery. A portion of the proceeds goes back to local nonprofits.
We're so excited to share what our students, alumni, faculty and staff have been doing in the past year. From students taking their coursework into the community to empower women in the workplace, to professor Sarah Watamura starting programs to help heal and prevent trauma, the CAHSS community is accomplishing incredible things.
Allison Welty (MA ’15) is a learner at heart. Welty first studied history and English as an undergraduate, then came to DU for an MA in English — and her studies haven’t stopped there.
Having pursued multiple career paths and encountered roadblocks along the way, Jeremiah Jones now serves as a deputy district attorney in Cortez, Colorado, a position that allows him to put the skills he learned at DU into everyday practice.
